VIRTUAL FACILITATION...
On March 14th, I facilitated an all-day strategic planning session at the XChange. Two people participated via videoconference, as they had recently returned to Canada from abroad and were required to self-quarantine. Everyone in the room was careful not to shake hands, but at that time nobody was talking about keeping 2 meters apart. At the end of the session, one person remarked “a week from now I doubt we’ll be able to get together like this.” She was right. Since social distancing measures were implemented in BC, I have offered virtual service to all my clients, working from my home office. I am also set up to facilitate group sessions, using the following technologies: Zoom: I have been using Zoom since pre-COVID and have given workshops on effective virtual facilitation with Zoom. Miro: Miro is an online collaboration and white boarding platform that allows me to record discussion and use virtual sticky notes! |
VOLUNTEER WORK FOR THE SECTOR...
Besides supporting my clients at this time, I have dedicated significant time to helping the non-profit and charity sector in Kamloops and BC, particularly through a collaborative initiative called ChangeLink. I host twice monthly Community Roundtables as well as creative conversations about other pressing sectoral issues. I have also been giving workshops on organizational responses to COVID-19. I am determined to help our sector not only survive, but thrive, as organizations seek creative adaptations to new realities.
